Sakura Sakura Project Update #5

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another Sakura Sakura project update. That makes two in two weeks, can you believe it?
We’ll start with the good news: Sakura Sakura is now 100% translated, with editing not far behind! Now for the less good news: we’ve identified 500 images that need translating. Fortunately, things are progressing well and we don’t expect this to take up too much time.
In the near future we’ll be opening up an opt-in beta exclusively for our Kickstarter backers. Bear in mind that this game is almost 900,000 characters long, has the above mentioned 500 images that need translating, and has a whole host of features, so there will likely be bugs. If you don’t mind seeing the game a little dirty then we’d love to have you onboard and get your feedback! If you’d prefer to only play the finished product, that’s fine too!
The start date for this beta and how to opt-in have yet to be determined but watch for news in a later update.

I’ve somehow survived the H-scene gauntlet. Now I move on to the image gauntlet. But soon, this game shall be truly complete. Hopefully you all enjoy the weird, crazy hijinks as much as I did. At any rate, thanks for sticking with us for this long, and sorry the game took forever (but really, it’s way bigger than we thought).

Holy cow, this game just goes on forever lol, it's like there's no end to these files. I've been on vacation all week so progress has been slow on my end, but I'll be back at it first thing tomorrow to have this thing fully edited ASAP. I hope you'll bear with me for the rest of this, I have less than 25% left!

Hi there everyone, I’m TBAC, one of the translators on Sakura Sakura! We figured we’d write a quick update to let you know how things are progressing.
We apologize for the length of time without an update, but it turned out this game was far bigger than we first thought. In fact, every time we thought we were almost done we found new files that needed translating! To put things in perspective a little bit, this is the second longest game I’ve ever worked on based on the text alone, but probably the longest when you take all the content and playtime into perspective.
We’re roughly 95% of the way through the translation at this point and are about to finish up the final section of the game. Honestly, this game has been a lot of fun to work on, and, without going too much into spoiler territory, I strongly urge you to check out all it has to offer! Don’t just stop playing after going after your Sakura of choice!

Hey everyone, I’m Ningen, another one of the translators on Sakura Sakura. I’ve gotta say, I didn’t realize what a behemoth this game was until it was too late and I was deep in the Sakura pits already. Fortunately, we’re almost done translating at this point. It’s been a wild ride and I hope everyone enjoys the game to its fullest.

Hey there, I’m Adam, the editor for Sakura Sakura. First off, you’ll be happy to know that editing is just over 75% complete, so I’m nearly there! That said, this has turned out to be quite the project; this game is a lot longer than anyone had anticipated it would be. It seems like a new file pops up as soon as one gets finished. The good news, though, is that I’m really enjoying this game, and I’m sure you will too. I hope you’re all looking forward to it!

I want to personally apologize for the lack of updates for Sakura Sakura. I can promise that in all future titles, our updates will be much more frequent. We plan on migrating to the weekly update style for all titles in the near future.
We have several announcements coming up in March, so please look forward to them.

Hello once again, everyone!
We’re back with another project update for you, involving both good news and bad. It’s been a while, so let’s jump right into it.
The good news: we’ve been paying close attention to feedback from the community, be it social media, email, or anything else, and have been making changes internally to improve ourselves based on that. Some of these changes we’re sure you’ve already heard about, including bringing on TBAC and Ningen as translators and Kitty-tama and Haerts as proofreaders. We’ve made plenty of other changes as well, ones that we’re sure you’ll be more than happy with, so keep the feedback coming!
Now for the bad news (with some good mixed in). First, we unfortunately had to say goodbye to MuNo, who left Sol Press. I’m sure you’ll all be happy to know, however, that we brought in TBAC and Ningen to replace him. With that in mind, because of all these changes, we will sadly be delaying the release of Sakura Sakura until (early?) March. We’re very sorry that the game is being delayed, but we hope that it provides for an even better final result for you guys. We apologize again and hope you’ll bear with us during the delay, but as the great Shigeru Miyamoto once said, “A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever.”
As for the status of the translation, TBAC and Ningen are hard at work as we speak. Everything previously translated has been looked over and given their seal of approval, and they’re already working on parts that hadn’t been translated before MuNo’s departure. Editing is well under way as well, and the HD demo should be sent along to implementation within the next few days. We’ll have more info on that coming soon.
Thank you again for all your support for both Sakura Sakura and Newton and the Apple Tree, it means the world to us! We’ll keep you updated as everything continues along, please look forward to the HD demo and final release!
